In this segment from Health Matters Dr John and Kate Richards talk with Ann Ashford who has managed to control her Osteoarthritis without drugs or surgery. Ann achieved this in six months through weight loss. At 81kg she was almost crippled by pain and she was only able to walk with a stick for support. In four months Ann had reduced her weight to 61.5kg when she regained her mobility and was free from pain. Pain was a great motivator but she credited her success to maintaining her diet and undertaking a structured exercise regime of knee exercises which began in a local hydrotherapy pool.
