Dr John continues the discussion about practical ways to support kids with allergies. Today he’s talking with Barbara Dennison, a senior pediatric dietician with the Westmead Children’s Hospital in Sydney, about the role that diet plays in this process. Barbara makes the point that many parents make poor choices about compensating for the food group that has had to be removed from their children’s diet. A good example is when dairy is removed from their diet a poor substitute could leave a child unable to thrive.

Babara Dennison, Fiona Wedding and Dr Preeti Joshi have developed Yum! a cookbook for children with allergies that has recipes that avoid the common allergens and also provides good advice about diagnosis and management of allergies.

Listen in to Dr John and Barbara and if you would live to know more.
