We build up strong bones when we are under 20 but if we have the genes for osteoporosis, as time passes the breaking down of bones exceeds the building up.

This is especially so after the menopause for women because  the hormone oestrogen which flows before the menopause helps to make bones strong.

Blokes with the gene for osteoporosis also suffer osteoporosis but it tends to be later than women.

Have a listen to how consuming 250 mls of milk a day, a 200 gram tub of yoghurt and a couple of  slices of cheese is a great way to keep your bone loving calcium levels high.
