Diabetes Confusion

People with Type 2 Diabetes might be confused with a new way of scoring of the HBA1C Test. The test is an indicator of the average glucose level over the past three months.  The way that the test is measured has been changed from a percentage to a new unit and this may cause some confusion.  The NPS has developed a Diabetes Unit Conversion Meter which will help people with diabetes manage up until the final changeover in mid-2013.  The reason for the change is to standardise Australia’s results with the world-wide standard.
